It’s almost time for our annual Youth Ski Trip and Winter Retreat.  This year’s retreat will be on January 18-21, 2008.  All of our J2A students and YAC’s are invited to participate in this wonderful time of winter sports, fellowship, community building, and worship.

            This year, we will head up to the Wolf Laurel Ski Slopes in Mars Hill, North Carolina, just about 30 miles outside of Asheville.  We will be staying at the Scenic Wolf Ridge Lodge, a beautiful log cabin community on top of the mountain and adjacent to the ski slopes.  For more information on our location, please visit www.skiwolfridgenc.com and www.scenicwolfresort.com.    

            The cost for this year’s trip is $200.00 per person ($175.00 per person in families with two or more going on the trip).  This slight increase in the cost of the trip is due to increases in prices for lodging, fuel, and ski rentals.  In addition, we are asking that each student going on the trip bring a snack or drink (bottled water appreciated!) to share with the group.   This reduces the overall cost of the trip and assures that we have plenty of food for our hungry young folks.  Snack and drink contributions are greatly appreciated.

            Each young person should bring enough money to purchase dinner on the way there and lunch on the way back.  Due to the high cost of liability deposits for snowboards, the Church will be unable to rent snowboarding equipment, so those who wish to snowboard should bring their own equipment or money to rent them.

            Scholarships and financial assistance are always available for this trip, so please contact me if I can be helpful in this regard.  We want everyone to be able to go on this trip.

            We will meet at the Church on Friday, January 18 at 3:30 PM, and we will depart promptly at 4:00 PM.  We will return to the Church on Monday, January 21 at approximately 4:00 PM. 

            Space is limited for this trip, so please return the registration and permission form NO LATER than January 1, 2008.  Due to space limitations, we will be unable to permit friends to come along on the ski trip.
